2010 Good Year In Art For Me

2010 Good Year In Art For Me

2010 for me started out with a solo show at DEVA cafe in Modesto, continued monthly hosting of Downtown Modesto Third Thursday Art Walk in Modesto, and an invitation to hang art at the California Institute of Mental Health in Sacramento. Not long after that I joined on at fineartamerica.com and have two images with a sale, but three show invitations. The first resulted in successful 13 painting show at Mezzo in Stockton, which has gotten a paragraph and a half away from the five star food raves in Stockton Record review and generous TV video pans during interviews. Mezzo came after posting the Six Paintings and a Frog on fineartamerica.com at Tresetti's in Modesto. For links, http://mezzostockton.com and http://www.tresetti.com In May, got cover credit and two page article for online magazine Sacramento Talent Magazine. Then an invitation to show at UC Riverside's Goldware Family Library at UCR that opened in November and will run through May 6, 2011. That show featured in UCR magazine, and NAMI California Newsletter and even local Artel newsletter. No awards this year, but did make it past juries into Delicato Family Vineyards annual Art Show, Tracy Art League Expressions show, and Central California Art Association Spring shows. Did another stint at Riverdance Farms Pick and Gather in Livingston and plan to be a part of that this year. Diana Rocha placed a number of paintings in Pismo Beach for me, and a visit to O'Reilly's Irish Pub got Myles to point out to me, the printmaking part of his collection of my work, what has been hanging in the dining room since pub opened, the watercolors and drawings at his home. My visit to Riverside found that the Substation still using one of my designs on a tee shirt that was drawn 37 years ago, in their 38 years of business, and located right across parking lot from the Alumni Center show. Some events were so-so, long day at Modesto Art and Wine Festival, and resigned from Peer Recovery Art Director as CEO not keeping to original intent, and nothing for art director to do. 2011 looks like it will jump off as fast, as at turn of the year, have 80 paintings out on display for sale all over California.
