About James Christiansen
longtime working Artist in Modesto, California. Originally from Riverside, with art classes while at UC Riverside in the 1970s. Career has included work as cartoonist, poster maker, printmaking, and paintings. Recent shows include 2011 at UC Riverside Alumni Center - solo retrospective show, 2010 at California Institute of Mental Health, 2012 Boulder Creek Music - Santa Cruz County, and repeat award winner in watercolors in various Central California Art Association Spring Shows, and more. Abstract Expressionism, one label appended. I like to do slice of life sharpie drawings of concerts in progress, bar scenes and special events. I have been doing this for over forty years, and have a large portfolio at home, open to public viewing every April with the Stanislaus County Artist Open Studio Tour, this year April 25 and 26, 2015. . I write the Art View column in monthly publication Modesto View. www.modestoview.com
